This weekend Film Antics took part in the 48 Hour Film Festival right here in San Jose.
Here’s some information if you aren’t familiar with the film festival.
…
The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which film teams make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours.

On Friday night, teams get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in their movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. Then it will show at a local theater, usually in the next week.

The 48 Hour Film Project’s mission is to advance filmmaking and promote filmmakers. Through its festival/competition, the Project encourages filmmakers and would-be filmmakers to get out there and make movies. The tight deadline of 48 hours puts the focus squarely on the filmmakers—emphasizing creativity and teamwork skills. While the time limit places an unusual restriction on the filmmakers, it is also liberating by putting an emphasis on “doing” instead of “talking.”

Filmmaking teams from throughout the San Jose area successfully completed a weekend of filmmaking. Films were due on August 15th, and the last few minutes before the deadline saw filmmakers, operating on little sleep and lots of adrenaline, rushing to get their films in on time.

Come see what Bay area filmmakers can do! Film Antics will be screening our project, The Exchange, on Thursday, August 19, 2010. The festival begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $10. We hope to see you there! Enjoy, watch, and vote!

Thanks for your support,
Raymund
